Due to the constant growth of the M&C Group which has accelerated by new individual products and additional product groups in the past few years and due to future projects that can certainly be expected, the demand for both production and office space is continuously increasing. Moreover, further potential is to be exploited to optimize production processes and the use of production resources in the best possible way with a view to meeting new standards.
In 2008, a plot of land covering approximately 10,000 sq.m. has therefore been acquired at Rehhecke 80 in Ratingen in the immediate vicinity of the Head Office in order to enable further growth of the Group at this location as well.
At the end of 2017, a working group was set up whose task was the functional planning of the new premises. This important preparatory work was completed at the end of 2018. On the basis of the requirements profile developed, M&C will start building on the site in cooperation with an experienced regional project general contractor approximately mid-2019.
The new two-storey building complex will accommodate the considerably enlarged production area, combined with the work areas of the Technical Service, restructured Storage/Logistics, Production Management and Production Planning as well as the operational Quality Management. The individual work places have a high standard and with a basic light level of 500 lux, for example, they will be exceptionally bright and friendly. All rooms will be individually air-conditioned, the production areas can be configured in a multivariable manner.
Apart from additional office space, the new office building will also comprise the in-house exhibition, a training and conference area, meeting rooms, social and break rooms as well as a high-quality fitness room. The attractive, generously planned new building will also include reserve space for further continuous growth.
The two interconnected buildings will be energy-optimized, sound-insulated and harmoniously integrated into the neighborhood environment. The site planning, building architecture, construction material and color concept will be aligned with the modern and high-quality corporate architecture of the M&C Group of Companies. Within the framework of employer branding for employee retention and employee recruitment, M&C places particular emphasis on a friendly, employee-oriented design of the premises at this new site and thus the maintenance of a sustainably positive working atmosphere as is the case with all other locations as well.
After relocating the production area to its new site in 2020, the currently used office and production building at Rehhecke 79 will be completely modernized and adapted in design and will then exclusively comprise offices and ancillary functional facilities, which are partly located elsewhere today. The extensive work in this building is to be completed by 2021.
